Saleem AL-Ameri

CLV

On Monday 3 June in class F16 Salem Al Shehhi (H00213881) was talking about social media and the Arab spring. He gave more information about the social media and what happened after the Arab spring; at the end he discussed some details about the problems in this area.

He started with a good introduction about the new technology and what is the benefit of these things.
His eye contact was very good because he was sharing the information and he was looking to the students and the teacher while talking. He was moving from side to side and he did not stand in front of the screen. Salem was more confidence about what he was talking about; he did not use any notes or cards; it seems me he was prepared for the presentation.  In the presentation he did not use many words in each slide but he put many pictures in all slides. The pictures were good and covering the problem he was talking about. He showed us some real pictures, for example about Egypt, Tunisia etc. He was aware of what he was talking about. His voice was very clear and every one could hear it. Salem was well organized. He was smiling all the time and very confident because he was ready for the presentation. I think the power point was good and he showed to us a lot of information. For the appraisal I give him 9 out of 10.

On Sunday 25 April in class F16 Mohammed AlKhamiri (H00211114) was talking about Syria and he give more information about Syria and what are the nicest places there, at the end he discuss some details about the war there.

He started his presentation about the basic information in Syria. First of all, he talked about the population that is 19,405 million people in 2007 so I think this number in this time might be changed because every year the population become more and more so it is bigger than the number in 2007. In the presentation his eye contact was good in the middle and at the end of the presentation because in the beginning he was confused and fixed his eyes on the teacher. He put good pictures in all the slides and the pictures were good and covering the solution he was talking about. He showed to us the different religions in Syria because there are many different religions there and the biggest number are Muslims. He was standing at the side of the screen and he did not move from his place while he was presenting the slides. Mohammed used paper and I think he was reading the specific details and numbers from this paper the same as the population. He did speak in a normal way and he did not use the perfect words, he was searching for similar words but, we did understand him while he was talking with a normal voice. He looked good in the presentation but he was not preparing what he was going to talk about and in the beginning he did not feel confident because he looks confused. Mohammed was little serious and he wasn’t smiling in the presentation because he was sad about the people who were killed without reasons! So he cannot smile in this case; also the power point was nice and he showed to us simulated pictures of what happed in Syria. I think the power point was good and for the appraisal I give him 6 out of 10.

personal reflection

Personal reflection

In classroom F16 there was a meeting between three students; there were Mohamed, Abdulla and Saleem. The chairman was Mohamed Thani Al Romaitha H00128009, who had the final decision in this situation. The participant Abdullah Rashid H00237186 was asked to come and give some solutions that would solve this dilemma and the secretary was me Saleem Al-Ameri (H00134725). The problem discussed is the car parking area in the ADMC is not big enough and the students there were more than the number of the car parking spaces. We did some possible solutions and we tried to analyze it to show what the best solution is in this situation. Abdulla said we have to put the police in the car parking area so they can manage the parking; also they can catch those students who park their cars in a wrong way because this is the biggest problem in this situation. The policemen have the power in this problem so if the students see him they will park in the correct way because they will take a violation from the police because of their wrong parking. Also Abdulla said a suggestion that is the ADMC have to build a car parking building because there are many areas which are free and not used by the ADMC. Mohamed said maybe we can tell the ADMC to request about the machine that takes more than one car in the same parking space but we discussed this part and it will be expensive for the college. Mohamed suggested taking the football area and changing it to parking and making a contract with Al-Jazeera club for those students who play football to play their games.

At the end the meeting closed properly and the chairman, secretary & participant were very accurate and very efficient and they gave good solutions.

In-class meeting: agenda, minutes & recommendations

Problem: Parking Area In HCT Campus

Venue

Date of meeting: 18th March 2013
Time of meeting: 16:30
Venue: F16
Group members:
Chair: Mohammed Thani.
Secretary: Saleem Salim.
Participant: Abdullah Rashid.
Venue preparation:
Grouping of chairs round tables

Agenda:

· Few parking areas.

· No lighting in the parking area .

· Improper use of parking by students.

· There is no space between the parking.

Minutes

1. Abdullah thinks that the problem is with the few parking an places, but the problem is with the students because they use the parking area in a improper way. So to solve this problem Abdullah suggested that we have to involve the police to get the students to park their cars in a proper way.

2. Abdullah added that there are non-used areas in the campus, so we can build extra parking areas there.

3. The chairman Mohamed suggested that they build a parking building that can contain more cars, but Abdullah interrupted Mohamed by adding that we should provide golf carts for the students to deliver them to their class.

4. Also Mohamed says that there is a machine that can take only 3 parking spaces to provide 10 parking space.

5. Abdullah came back with an idea that we can build another level of parking area in the present parking area, and Mohamed proposed that we can take the playing ground and convert it to parking till we finish the new car parking building and he suggested renting in the al Jazeera club.

6. Abdullah also thinks that we should penalize students who use parking in an improper way and link the violation to the student’s record.

7. The chairman said that also we have a problem of lighting in the parking area, so Abdullah says we have to motivate the students to build lights that work by the sun’s energy.

Recommendations:

1- The first solution is that we will rent the stadium in the Al Jazeera club and use the playground area for parking and build a second level on the existed parking area behind the mosque.

2- We recommend to choose the penalty system and to link it with the student record.

3- Also we have to light up the parking area by using renewable energy and by motivating the student to build those lights

interview assessment

We met Mohamed Thani Al-Rumaithi for the job in ADMC on 13th of March in room F16 in the afternoon and the interviewers were Hedley, Abdullah and Saleem Al-Ameri. First of all, Mohamed gave us his certificates and the details that we need in the beginning for the interview.

In the beginning we asked Mohamed to describe himself and his practical life. He was confused in the beginning and did not talk about himself completely. Mohamed Thani was wearing the local dress that is what we need in this job as we must wear the formal dress every day. Mohamed had a good appearance in the interview and his body language was normal because most of the time he was keeping his hands on the table without moving and his eye contact was not good; maybe this was the first interview for him and he looked confused. I think he prepared most of the questions before we asked him and he looked comfortable. He said I am graduated from the ADMC Diploma degree and now he is continuing his bachelor’s in the same College. He was working in the Ministry of Labor for four years; it seems that he is well experienced. Mohamed left the previous job because of the low salary and the hard communication and low treatment in that company.

Overall Mohamed earned this job by good education and his experience; also we asked about Mohamed in his previous job and every manager was thankful about Mohamed and they say that he has a motivation that pushes Mohamed to do a fine job.
